As the accredited testing lab for ILO SID, Bion Biometrics conducts conformance and interoperability testing for SID-0002 products. To date, we have completed three rounds of the ILO SID Biometric Interoperability Test (ISBIT). Further rounds will follow, in response to vendor demand.
For further information on ILO SID testing and the next testing round
please contact us.
Each product tested consists of a fingerprint sensor and a capture, enroll and verify algorithm. Two copies of the hardware and software for each product must be submitted. One will be used for testing and the other reserved for backup.
In order to simplify integration with the test control software and to allow for both online and offline testing to be conducted, each participating vendor must ensure that the software component for each product complies with simple API specifications, as outlined in
API Specification—ILO SID Biometric Interoperability Test.
For a detailed outline of the ISBIT testing methodology, please consult: Methodology: ILO SID Biometric Interoperability Test.
The final test results are reviewed, by an independent group of experts from the ISO/IEC JTC-1 SC 37 subcommittee on biometric standards. Once the results are verified, the names of those products that were able to meet the ILO required threshold for interoperable performance are forwarded to the ILO Governing Body. Once the Governing Body has given its consent, the products are added to the ILO SID Approved Products List and are henceforth considered to be approved for use by all ILO member states deploying SID enrolment or verification systems.
