Completion of ISBIT-3 Testing
Between January and June 2006, members of Bion Biometrics completed conformance and interoperability testing for 10 products, under the ILO Seafarers’ Identity Documents Biometric Interoperability Test #3 (ISBIT-3). Each product tested consisted of a fingerprint sensor paired with an enrolment and matching algorithm. All were tested for conformance with ILO SID-0002 requirements and for interoperable performance that met ILO specifications. Data was collected from 184 test subjects, using each of the products. In total, 67,802 fingerprint images were collected, over 161,359,702 individual matches were computed, and 27,066,803 two-finger transactions were simulated.

The final findings and test results, authored by John Campbell and Matthew Madden of Bion Biometrics, will be released later in 2006.
